Course overview

The two operations of setting objectives and measuring involve planning, analysis and synthesis. You need to think clearly about your organisation’s stakeholders both people within your organisation such as employees as well as those outside it such as customers, competitors and suppliers. To do this properly you need data and you need to be able to turn this data into useful information. Turning data into information requires you to consider both the context and the people with whom you come into contact.

These two aspects – the information you handle and the key people (stakeholders) with whom you interact are particularly important. Managing information and people effectively are crucial factors in enabling the organisation to plan properly and meet stakeholder needs.
