Workplaces are moving from traditional hierarchical approaches of power and control to more of an empower and engage mindset. Therefore, being able to better manage people through building trust, delegating responsibility and becoming adept at attracting, selecting, building and developing people has never been so important. This course builds your knowledge, skills, capability and competency to master these challenges. You will receive:
Being a successful and self-actualised manager means achieving objectives, goals and targets THROUGH and WITH people and we start with helping you how to achieve this. In this course we have curated content from management experts at Stanford University and Deloitte as well as from experienced thought leaders such as Adam Berry, Kelly McGonigal, Jason Fried and Regina Hartley.
Module 1 sets the scene for your management learning journey by reviewing what it means to be an effective manager and explaining how to boost both individual and team productivity – and manage stress – and as a result contribute more meaningfully towards your organisation’s success.
Module 2 deep dives into the factors that impact your team’s behaviour. We focus on what motivates teams, look at areas to improve team welfare and explore how to make effective team decisions. We review Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, motivational theory from Herzberg and Expectancy Theory from Victor Vroom.
Module 3 provides an overview of the important area of inclusivity, diversity and how to prevent discrimination in the workplace. This is continued in Module 5 which details the processes and procedures used in attracting, selecting and recruiting amazing people, and illustrates the importance of how considering team members to be key stakeholders bring benefit to the whole organisation.
Finally, in Module 4, the skills and competencies required to manage your team’s individual and group performance are explained, providing an opportunity for you to apply contemporary management theory to your everyday workplace environment.
